"The Outdoor Capital of the UK", Fort William and it's surrounding area is a dream come true for those with a love of the great outdoors, and, nestling in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Nevis Bank Hotel is the perfect base camp from which to enjoy this beautiful location to its full. What better feeling could there be than reaching the summit of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak, before coming home to relax in the hotel bar, enjoy a meal, and rest your weary limbs in the comfort of your room? Nevis Bank Hotel is also the favoured choice for those walking the West Highland Way. After 95 long miles, the welcoming sight of the hotel is an oasis for many, and, on any given day, our lounge bar is sure to be full with those who have just completed the adventure, and lifelong friendships are often formed while enjoying a pint or two and reminiscing over your accomplishments with those you have met on the way.
Of course, while these two activities are probably the most popular for those with a love of walking, there are many other activities which are sure to please - how about the Great Glen Way, or a day exploring Glencoe, or, for those days when the weather may be slightly unkind (believe it or not, it can happen in Fort William !!), a short trip to enjoy the facilities on offer at The Ice Factor in nearby Kinlochleven, with its indoor climbing wall allowing you some practice for when the sun does come back out !
It is worth noting that our popular cocktail bar is base camp for "The Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team". You may well find yourself chatting to this friendly bunch who have all manner of stories to tell. Whether you are an experienced walker, or someone who just enjoys a short stroll in the refreshing Highland air, there truly is something for everyone, all you have to do is enjoy it.
